Jose Mourinho has issued a come-and-get-me plea to
Manchester United following the Red Devils’ latest loss,
according to the Sunday Sun .
The Portuguese was sacked by Chelsea last week following
a dismal beginning to the defence of their Premier League
title, but has been heavily linked with a move to Old
Trafford after the pressure further increased on Louis
van Gaal.
United fell to a 2-1 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday,
their third successive loss in all competitions, and the
Dutchman was subjected to vicious boos from the Old
Trafford faithful as he left the dugout after the game.
The Sun claim that a poll run by United fanzine Red Issue
immediately after showed that 80 per cent of fans are in
favour of Van Gaal being sacked and Mourinho replacing
him, and also report that Mourinho told a friend that
“there are some jobs you don’t turn down” after being
informed of the wishes of United’s fans.
Several sections of Old Trafford chanted Mourinho’s name
against Norwich, with United now out of the top-four,
Tottenham replacing them following their 2-0 win over
Southampton.

He reached the Champions League final in the same
season, with only an injury-time Sergio Ramos header
denying his team a famous win.
Atletico didn't win anything last season, but Simeone
kept them relevant, guiding them to third in La Liga
and a respectable quarter-final berth in the Champions
League.
However, with no disrespect to Atletico, it's
reasonable to assume he has aspirations of managing
one of Europe's elite clubs.
Simeone has a no nonsense style and would take no
prisoners at Stamford Bridge.

John Terry: Captain, leader, legend... manager?
Cut John Terry open and you'd see pure Chelsea blue
running all the way through him.
The 'captain, leader, legend' is about as much of a
hero as it's possible to be with the fans, and would
certainly unite them if he was given the top job.
Chelsea do have form in converting players into
bosses - Ruud Gullit and Gianluca Vialli both had a go
- and with his playing time ever more limited this
season, is the time right for JT to move into coaching?
Lack of managerial or coaching experience would
obviously count against him - and would Abramovich
really hand the keys to the manager's office over to a
complete novice?

Antonio Conte

Reports surfaced last week linking Italy manager Conte
with Mourinho's job.
Gazzetta dello Sport reckon Chelsea are interested in
handing the Italy manager the reins at Stamford
Bridge.
Conte burst onto the management scene in Italy when
he guided Bari to the Serie B title in 2009 and almost
did the same with Siena two years later.
The 46-year-old was appointed as manager of
Juventus in 2011 and led them to three consecutive
Serie A successes before resigning in 2014 and taking
charge of the national team shortly after.
His experience - playing and managing - lies solely in
Italy and he would certainly be a left field choice to
succeed Mourinho should he depart.

Gus Poyet

Poyet was given a taste of Premier League
management with Sunderland in October 2013 but was
sacked earlier this year with the club in a relegation
dogfight.
He kept the club in the top flight in the season he
took over but Black Cats board pounced at the chance

tough once more.
Granted, Sunderland didn't impress in the lead-up to
his departure, but it's probably unfair to judge his
management credentials from his time at a club which
has finished in the bottom half of the table in every
season bar one since their return to the top flight in
2007.
With the resources available at Chelsea, Poyet could
prove himself to be a decent manager, and he'd benefit
from the fans' support due to the time he spent with
the Blues during his playing career.
His inexperience at the top level will more than likely
cost him a shot, though.

is seeking $1.5 million in damages from US cable
news channel CNN for using his image in a story
about the death of a woman in a cryotherapy
chamber, his lawyer said on Friday.
CNN ran a story last month,exactly on October 28
about the death of Chelsea Ake-Salvacion, a 24-
year-old American woman who was found dead in
a cryotherapy tank in a Nevada spa.
CNN used a photo showing Franck Ribery’s head
while the footballer used a similar machine, which
many high-level sportsmen often do. An error on
the cable network’s part, as they immediately took
down the picture and post but that was not enough
to stop people from noticing.
“It results from this publication that the
photograph of Mr. Franck Ribery has been a
$$ociated to a woman’s death related to the
cryotherapy treatment,” Ribery’s lawyer Carlo
Alberto Brusa said.
“Mr. Franck Ribery, a world-famous professional
soccer player and former member of the France
national soccer team, has never given his
permission and consent to the use of this
photograph — and therefore of his image — related
to the aforesaid publication.”
Brusa said the use of the photo was an “illegal a
$$ociation, which constitutes an infringement of
the personality rights and the French image right,
is a wrongdoing for which you are responsible and
which obliges you to repair all the damages
suffered by Mr. Franck Ribery and his family
following this morbid publication and the public
reactions provoked”.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema received the backing
of his club on Thursday, just hours after being charged
in connection with a sex tape extortion case. The 27-
year-old was released by French prosecutors on
Thursday after a blackmail case involving a sex tape
featuring fellow French international Mathieu Valbuena
was brought to the fore.
Despite the player pictured training alone, Real Madrid's
president leapt to the defence of the French
international.
"Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, held a meeting
with the player in which he gave him his full support
and expressed his confidence that his actions were in
good faith and that he is completely innocent," said a
statement released by the Spanish giants.
"The club values and recognises the professional
commitment, the displays of camaraderie with his team-
mates and the impeccable attitude he has shown as a
core member of the first team squad for the more than
six seasons that he has been a part of Real Madrid."
Real Madrid said that Benzema, who is still recovering
from injury, had trained on his own, jogged and carried
out various exercises.
A source in the French criminal investigation said
Benzema had admitted approaching Valbuena about the
sex tape "on behalf of a childhood friend" who himself
had been contacted by blackmailers in possession of the
tape, who were seeking to extort money.
But Benzema's lawyer said his client was "innocent"..

Nigerian Golden Eaglets continued their impressive run
at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup as they defeated
Mexico 4-2 to advance to the final of the Championship.
