A new study has revealed that people who stand
for six hours daily have a lower like hood of
gaining more weight.
A research team led by Dr Kerem Shuval, Director of
Physical Activity & Nutrition Research at the
American Cancer Society observed over 7,000
adults.
The a$$ociation between standing time and
obesity was determined through three measures:
body ma$$ index (BMI), body fat percentage, and
waist circumference.
The study found that in men standing half the time
was a$$ociated with a 59 per cent reduced
likelihood of obesity.
While in women, the likelihood of obesity was
reduced by 57 per cent.
The study was published in the journal Mayo Clinic.
